Kris Johnson’s Dexter Gordon Collection translates the best-known tunes composed and/or played by Dexter Gordon into a big band format, and was originally arranged in 2018 in collaboration with Maxine Gordon, jazz historian, arts advocate and widow of the late Dexter Gordon.

Every arrangement in the collection features a flexible solo part with charts included for concert, Bb, Eb and bass clef instruments. The solo part may be played by a guest artist on any instrument, assigned to any individual in an ensemble, or split up among several players.
