Kris Johnson: Film Score Composer


BIO

Kris Johnson is an award-winning film composer from Detroit, MI. He took home “Best Original Score” at the 2011 LA Webfest for his work with the webseries “The Punanny Diaries,” and scored the Phill Branch documentary “Searching For Shaniqua” which won the “HBO Best Documentary Award” at the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. Kris is a long-standing trumpeter and arranger with the Count Basie Orchestra, and a regularly commissioned composer/arranger for orchestras, jazz ensembles, chamber ensembles, gospel/pop horn sections, and musical theater. Most recently, Kris scored Infyer Productions’ documentary “Clark Park,” and the score for the upcoming webseries “King Ester” by Dui Jarrod.
